THE PAST HAS BEEN CHANGED.

Something has been rewritten.

Your mission is to follow the clues and contain the anomaly.

This investigation has been created exclusively for Dragon Con 2026 participants. Everything you need to begin is waiting for you.

YOUR MISSION

Are you ready to investigate?

Click the button below to begin the Rewritten Past Puzzle.

WORK TOGETHER

You don’t have to solve this alone.

Talk to other participants. Compare what you’ve discovered. Share theories. Put the clues together.

Teamwork is encouraged. You never know when another investigator might notice something you’ve missed.

Just remember: the goal is to solve the mystery, not to keep your discoveries secret.

STUCK?

Even the best investigators get stuck.

If you need a little help, you have two hints available during your investigation.

You can request a hint by email through a form, or find a Black Card Cipher team member at Dragon Con and ask for help in person.

You get two hints, so use them wisely.

MISSION COMPLETE

Successfully solve the Rewritten Past Puzzle and you’ll unlock a special Dragon Con reward:

5 EXCLUSIVE DRAGON CON CARDS

These five cards are exclusive to the Dragon Con 2026 puzzle experience and come from our upcoming game:

PIECES OF ME

You’ll have two ways to get your cards.

1. DIGITAL SET

Want to print your own? Download the digital set and print your five exclusive cards at home.

2. PHYSICAL SET

Want the real thing? Find a Black Card Cipher team member at Dragon Con after completing the puzzle and claim your physical set. Check our Facebook page for clues to find team members.

IMPORTANT: Only the first 37 people who complete the puzzle and find a Black Card Cipher team member at Dragon Con will receive the physical card set. Once all 37 physical sets have been claimed, only the digital version will remain available.

ONE LAST THING…

Share clues. Share theories. Help each other.

But don’t spoil the solution for people who are still investigating.

Follow the clues. Trust your instincts. The past isn’t always what you remember.
